Bridgeway Hospice is always looking for volunteers to help create special moments that matter with our patients.

Memory Bear Program
Memory Bear Program
Sifting through the belongings of a loved one who has recently passed away can be overwhelming for a grieving family member, but Bridgeway Hospice “The Memory Bear Program” can help ease the pain.
To help the bereaved cope, Bridgeway Hospice Memory Bear Program provides patient’s families with a bear made from the clothing of their loved one. The bears are created by volunteers using their favorite clothing that help the bereaved recall happy memories with their loved ones.

VOLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF HOSPICE
Hospice volunteers may provide service in three major areas:
- Participate in PATIENT SUPPORT which may include friendly visits, reading to patients, running errands, or writing letters to patients.
- Providing assistance through BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT is another opportunity for you to participate as a volunteer.
- These services may include assisting with grief support groups and coordinating community resources.
An additional area that volunteers provide service is with ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES such as:
typing, filing, and other light office work.
The opportunities to provide service as a hospice volunteer are great, and the benefits are even greater. Most volunteers experience a sense of personal reward and growth once they have given their time and compassion to those patients and their families that are facing life-limiting illness. They are allowed the privilege and satisfaction of helping those in need as they face end of life.
