Mackenzie is a Baton Rouge local who graduates from Baton Rouge Community College this fall with a Liberal Arts in Sciences degree and a minor in Music. She attended LSU for over three years where she was a part of the Golden Band from Tigerland and continued her education with BRCC, while maintaining a full-time position at Bridgeway Hospice. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she was introduced to the hospice industry at a very young age as a Hospice Volunteer. She will soon celebrate 6 years of employment with Bridgeway. Mackenzie was recently promoted to Regional Administrative Coordinator where she oversees the administrative office positions in three (3) locations, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Plaquemine.
In her new position, Mackenzie’s role is to train all Administrative positions ranging from Medical Records to Human Resources to data entry and receptionist. Her specialty is customer service and is a true people pleaser. In her spare time, she attends and participates in hospice conferences and continues to educate others on the vision of hospice. “Growing up in this industry is interesting. People always ask me ‘How do you do it?’. To be quite honest, this is the most honorable job I could ever dream of having. This is not meant to be a place of sadness, but it’s more a place to rejoice and have an appreciation for life, however long or short it may be.” She has met many new people along her journey here at Bridgeway and considers this job a blessing. Most of the time she does not meet the patients or families in person, but simply speaks to them over the phone. She remembers their voice and considers every phone call important. “I appreciate every person for being a part of my life. At Bridgeway, we consider everyone our family and they truly are my family - my Bridgeway family.”
